COVID-19 Update

Under Gov. Justice’s reopening plan, West Virginia Strong – The Comeback, the Hatfield-McCoy Trails will be permitted to have a limited reopening effective Thursday, May 21, 2020.

While riders will be allowed on the trails, all trailhead facilities and welcome centers, as well as the visitor center for the trail system, will remain closed. All parking areas at the trailheads will remain open for use.

Nestled high in the beautiful mountains of southern West Virginia, the Hillside Hangout is a newly renovated house perfectly suited to host Hatfield-McCoy Trail riders, their family and friends.  With 3 bedrooms, the Hangout sleeps 8 people.  The outdoor area is a must see for those who like to hangout under the stars and enjoy some time by the fire! Firewood included!

The Hangout has been newly renovated and is ready to be your home away from home. Accommodations include 3 bedrooms with 1 queen bed, 1 full-size bed and 2 sets of twin bunks, full kitchen, and a large living area with Roku LCD television and Free High-Speed WiFi.

Ride your ATV right to the trails! The Hillside Hangout is located only 1 mile from the nearest access point to the Buffalo Mountain Trail of the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System, which also connects to the Devil Anse and Rockhouse Trails!  We are also located 2 miles from Downtown Historic Williamson West Virginia.
