Under Gov. Justice’s reopening plan, West Virginia Strong – The Comeback, the Hatfield-McCoy Trails will be permitted to have a limited reopening effective Thursday, May 21, 2020.
While riders will be allowed on the trails, all trailhead facilities and welcome centers, as well as the visitor center for the trail system, will remain closed. All parking areas at the trailheads will remain open for use.
There are many types of lodging choices available when you are planning your trip to the Hatfield-McCoy Trails. We recommend researching the list of lodging providers below to find the one that is right for you! One tip that we also offer is to consider which trail system you are riding as well as the type of lodging accommodations you prefer. The Hatfield-McCoy Trails, including each of our eight trail systems, span over five counties throughout southern West Virginia. So choosing the right location is key. Lodging choices available include but are not limited to hotels and motels, cabins, primitive and full hook-up campgrounds, apartments and homes of all types.
